Motus Divina

Inspired by the monastic form of contemplative prayer “Lectio Divina”, and the concept of the choreosonic, explored by Ashon T. Crawley, we met every morning at 6:30 am and every evening at 8:00 pm, for 40 days, to move, pray, vocalize, and meditate all at once

Invocation 

  1. “Spirit of God, come.”

  2. Bell rings.

Move

  1. Movement Leader for the day initiates a movement. 

  2. Song Leader for the day begins a melody.

  3. Word leader sings the text three times.

Meditate

  1. After the third time the text for the day is read, we meditate with our bodies/voices. 

Pray

  1. Word leader sings the text once.

  2. We pray with our whole selves to God. 

Contemplate 

  1. Word leader sings the text once.

  2. We gradually find a stillness and a silence.

  3. Bell rings 

Enflesh

  1. We go out and live our prayer in God.

  • Morning Motus Divina: 6:30am

  • Evening Motus Divina: 8:00pm

  • Move, Meditate, Pray, and Contemplate  will each be 3-4 minutes.

  • Silence and stillness is always available for anyone at anytime.

  •  The text for this 40 day season will be Isaiah, chapters 58-60. One verse will be read each session.
